Coach Bio

Katie has been coaching with All Access Dietetics since 2015. She earned her B.S. in Nutrition from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her M.S. in Nutrition from Texas Woman’s University. After completing her Dietetic Internship (DI) at the Michael E DeBakey Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center in Houston, she began her career there specializing in medical nutrition therapy for the inpatient setting and nutrition support for the critically ill.

During her time in Houston, Katie had the opportunity to precept interns, participate in DI selection interviews, and serve as a member of the DI selection committee for 5 years, chairing the committee twice. That means she has read over 300+ personal statements!! This opportunity has helped her better understand what internship directors are looking for in their top candidates.

Katie currently works at the VA Pittsburgh Health Care System in the role of Chief, Employee Engagement and Innovation Specialist. Her team includes the systems redesign, employee wellness, employee engagement and innovation workgroups. This opportunity has given her the chance to learn from, and directly interface with, executive leadership while further developing the skills she acquired as a clinician.
